Welcome to the Sacramento County Integrated Justice Information System (IJIS) Program

The Integrated Justice Information System (IJIS) Program was established to improve public safety through the timely and accurate sharing of criminal justice information among various justice related agencies. The IJIS Program is sponsored by the Sacramento County Criminal Justice Cabinet. Learn more about IJIS.

Newsflash!

CJIS Replacement Requirements Project: This project was initiated in November 2008 to provide an Strategic Implementation Plan to include: a comprehensive set of business/functional requirements to replace & enhance CJIS functionality, interface requirements for the California Court Case Management System (CCMS), interface/data sharing requirements between the new system and local justice partners; and, an impact analysis for the Courts moving to CCMS.

A DRAFT CJIS Replacement/Enhancement Strategy plan has been developed that includes potential alternative technical strategies, and a draft implementation schedule with associated tasks. Additionally, requirements have been drafted for General and Regional Data Sharing requirements, Jail, Court Module-data entry, Known Persons and Warrants. Input into the requirements and plan were the result of interviewing over 100 staff members from 19 different stakeholder agencies.

Recently, it was announced that Congresswoman Matsui had submitted The Sacramento Regional Justice Portal request submitted by the IJIS Program via the County CIO for nearly $5.5 million to share core justice data with our justice partners in Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado and Yolo counties. The portal also includes a new jail system, interface to the Court Case Management System (new state-wide Court system), etc., which are key components of the CJIS Replacement/Enhancement Project. This request is for Federal Fiscal Year 2010 and we will know more this fall regarding the outcome of our request.

Due to recent County Budget Cuts, the Project will transition into a phase where the draft plan and associated requirements will be refined by stakeholder representatives as we await to hear back on the federal earmark request.
